New access to Imidazo[1,2-a]imidazolin-2-ones and effective functionalization through Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling reactions

A new route to 6(5)-bromo-5(6)-methylimidazo[1,2-a]imidazolin-2-ones have been developed. Then, a novel and effective strategy of functionnalization of these scaffolds throught Suzuki-Miyaura cross coupling reactions is reported. Thanks to this methodology, a large panel of boronic acids were easily introduced, giving access to a diversified library of 6(5)-substituted-5(6)-methylimidazo[1,2-a] imidazolin-2-ones.
